Cookies & local storage
What Ilma stores in your browser.
Last updated: 6 October 2026
1. Summary
Ilma uses a small number of strictly necessary cookies and local storage items, which are always on. Optional analytics and monitoring cookies are used only if you accept them in the cookie banner. We use no advertising cookies.
2. What is stored
ilma.tz: your chosen timezone and 12 or 24 hour clock.
ilma.modelsView: whether the Models page shows cards or a list.
better-auth.session_token (cookie): keeps you signed in. Set only after you sign in, lasts up to 90 days and is removed when you sign out.
ilma.consent: remembers your cookie choice.
3. Optional: analytics and monitoring
If you accept, we may set cookies or use local storage for the following. If you decline, none of these run.
- Analytics (PostHog): counts visits and shows how features are used, so we can improve them. It stores an anonymous visitor id in a cookie and local storage. Where needed, data is anonymised.
- Error monitoring (Sentry): records technical errors in your browser so we can fix them.
The analytics cookie is named ph_…_posthog and lasts up to one year. If you decline later, it is removed.
You can change your choice at any time with “Cookie settings” in the footer.
4. Why
The necessary items are needed to provide the sign-in and settings you asked for, so they do not need your consent. The optional ones do, which is why they are off until you accept.
5. Third-party content
The map loads map tiles from OpenFreeMap / OpenStreetMap contributors, and fonts are served from our own site. The map provider receives your IP address and the map area you view, as any web server does.
6. How to remove it
You can clear cookies and local storage in your browser settings at any time. Signing out removes the sign-in cookie.
